Tony Finau wife-American professional golfer, Milton Pouha “Tony” Finau was born on September 14th, 1989 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Finau was born to Kelepi Finau and Ravena Finau. He has six siblings; Gipper, Tevita, Pianola, Kaylene, Kelven and Heilala.

In the 36-hole championship match, he defeated future PGA Tour player Daniel Summerhays to win the Utah State Amateur Championship in 2006.

Finau turned professional at the age of 17 and started competing on mini-tours including the Gateway Tour, NGA Hooters Tour, and National Pro Tour despite receiving basketball scholarship offers from colleges.

In 2009, Finau and his brother Gipper participated in The Big Break on the Golf Channel. During Big Break Disney Golf, Finau came in second.

In 2013, Finau participated in the PGA Tour Canada, making seven cuts out of eight starts. He earned his 2014 Web.com Tour card after placing T-3 at the 2013 Web.com Tour qualification tournament.

At the Stonebrae Classic in August 2014, he won his first championship. His PGA Tour card for the 2014–15 season was earned after he placed 12th in the Web.com Tour Finals and 8th overall in the regular season.

By making it to the Tour Championship in 2017, Finau qualified for the first three majors of 2018, including his first Master’s appearance.

Despite dislocating his ankle in the Par-3 competition the day before the first round of the 2018 Masters, he placed in a tie for tenth place.

His best result to date in a major competition was fifth place in the U.S. Open in June 2018 after a double-bogey on the 18th hole.

In the season-long FedEx Cup, Finau placed sixth on the 2018 PGA Tour. With 11 top-10 finishes in the 2017–18 season, he made almost $5,600,000.

His second-place results at the Safeway Open and The Northern Trust were his best of the year. Additionally, he placed T2 at the Genesis Open.

Finau lost a playoff match against Xander Schauffele at the WGC-HSBC Champions on October 28, 2018. Despite coming in second, he still won more than $1,000,000 in the race.

Finau played alongside Tiger Woods, Francesco Molinari, and others in the Masters Tournament final group in April 2019. He finished the competition tied for fifth.

Finau participated in the 2019 Presidents Cup at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia in December as a member of the American squad. Team USA triumphed 16–14. Finau lost his Sunday singles match to Hideki Matsuyama, going 0-1-3.

Finau lost the Waste Management Phoenix Open to Webb Simpson in a sudden-death playoff in February 2020.

Finau had a two-stroke lead with two holes left, but Simpson closed with back-to-back birdies to force the playoff, where Finau lost due to Simpson’s birdie on the first extra hole.

Finau had a five-week period in the beginning of 2021 where he placed in the top 4 in each of the four competitions he played in.

He tied for second at the Farmers Insurance Open, finished tied for second at the Saudi International on the European Tour, finished fourth at The American Express, tied for second at the Farmers Insurance Open, lost in a playoff to Max Homa at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Finau defeated Cameron Smith in a playoff to claim the 2021 Northern Trust.

Finau competed for the United States in the 2021 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, in September of that year. Finau went 1-2-0, losing his Sunday singles match to Ian Poulter, as the U.S. team triumphed 19-9.

Finau won the 3M Open and the Rocket Mortgage Classic in July 2022, his third and fourth PGA Tour triumphs, respectively.

Finau won three and lost one of his matches in order to qualify for the American squad at the 2022 Presidents Cup.
Finau won the Cadence Bank Houston Open in November 2022 to earn his third PGA Tour triumph of the year.

Finau won the Mexico Open in April 2023, marking his sixth PGA Tour triumph overall.
